If you are familiar with the work of Julian
Barnard, you know that he is an engaging and prolific source
of information about the life and work of flower essences pioneer
Dr. Edward Bach.
Now you can join the acclaimed author and
practitioner as he takes you on a fascinating tour through
the healing world of Dr. Bach. Newly released in the U.S. and
available through Flower
Essence Services, A Journey into Healing: Dr. Bach's Flower
Remedies provides an excellent introduction to the concepts
that informed the development and clinical application of the
Bach flower remedies.
Shot on location in England by
noted documentary filmmaker Charles Stewart, A Journey Into
Healing features Barnard's own narrative history of Dr. Bach's
earliest insights into the human/plant connection. Barnard's
commentary has the feel of an intimate chat, as he walks along
the river, gathers spring water, or collects flowers to make
an essence. All the while Barnard explains, in very accessible
language, how the qualities and gestures of such flowers as
Impatiens and Water Violet translate into healing messages
for our human emotions.
Woven together with Barnard's commentary is
footage of an actual case study performed by an experienced
flower practitioner using Dr. Bach's remedies. The therapist
works with a mother and daughter over a period of several months
as they struggle to make sense of major life changes.

It is clear that the essences are opening
emotional pathways and initiating subtle transformation, resulting
in profound healing and a renewed sense of self and purpose.
